As I write this, the United States is battling a pandemic which is stressing all aspects of the healthcare system. In New York and across the country, nurses are being asked to care for more patients with fewer resources and more stress. One piece of the solution is better self-care for nurses and the recognition that the mind-body-spirit health framework should guide care for patients\clients and self-care for nurses.

The Pacific College of Health and Science launched the RN to BSN program to fill the need to teach the traditional BSN skills and competencies through a prism of holism. Over the last 3 years, Pacific College has gravitated the program online and adapted the format to accommodate the busy schedule of nurses. As the country tries to respond to the pandemic, I am proud to help Pacific College expand the program nationally and help nurses care for themselves, their patients and their communities with their minds, their bodies and their hearts.
