Dear Pacific College Faculty and Students,
In preparation for the possible delivery of classes online, we want to find out more about the age and speed of your computer and your internet access speeds. Below are the minimum requirements to access any eventual method of online delivery of classes at Pacific College. As you can see, they are not extreme, however some of you may not have these. The purpose of this email is to find that out so we can make alternative plans. It is very important, if your computer and internet access do NOT at least meet the descriptions below that you click on the link below and fill out the form. This is only being done to help you, and providing the information will not have any negative consequences. Ok? I really appreciate it.
Computer requirements:
- No more than 5-6 years old (this could be waived if computer still runs well)
- Can run Microsoft Office well (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Can run the latest version of Google Chrome or Firefox internet browsers.
Internet requirements:
- Can browse the Web at a moderate speed
- Can view streaming applications on your computer, e.g., Netflix or YouTube without constant buffering
