Pacific College Job Announcement – Director of Digital Marketing

Pacific College of Health and Science is seeking a dynamic individual for the position Director of  Digital Marketing to support the overall marketing needs of Pacific College’s three ground campuses, online division, three clinics, Pacific Symposium, and the Pacific Center for Lifelong Learning.

Position Summary:

The Director of Digital Marketing develops and implements integrated digital marketing plans to increase enrolments and brand awareness for the college. Key areas of focus include optimizing media activities and spend to generate high quality inquiries for college programs, and collaborating with leaders across the college to support the marketing needs of Pacific College’s three ground campuses, online division, three clinics, Pacific Symposium, and the Pacific Center for Lifelong Learning. 

Essential Functions

Primary Marketing Responsibilities:

  • Develop the overall marketing strategy for the college supporting all campus based and online programs.
  • Create and optimize a digital marketing lead generation plan that provides the inquiry volume necessary to reach the college’s enrollment target. 
  • Track and analyze the efficiency and effectiveness of all marketing channels, activities, and messaging and rebalance media mix allocations to maximize enrollments and minimize cost per new student. 
  • Develop marketing budget and lead goals and ensure spend meets the college’s goals and adherence to the annual budget. 
  • Publish weekly and session performance reports highlighting trends, successes, and opportunities to keep senior executives abreast of marketing conditions and campaign results. 
  • Maintain and optimize the college’s website including creating new content and managing both on-site and off-site SEO. 
  • Manage the creation of collateral and communication for internal departments including institutional, clinic, admissions, CLL, Pacific Symposium, and outreach. 
  • Collaborate with other department leaders to streamline the admissions process and maximize student satisfaction across the entire enrollment experience. 
  • Work with inbound chat and call center agency to ensure representatives are performing to brand and performance standards. 
  • Provide creative direction on brand-level graphic design, web, photography, and video projects. 
  • Support marketing automation and lead nurturing initiatives through email, content, and social channels. 
  • Oversee the college’s social media strategy including creating content, updating profiles, engaging students and prospects, and managing review responses. 
  • Collaborate with channel-specific partners (lead generation, SEO, PR, blogging, email, social media, etc.) to manage key conversion points in the marketing tunnel. 

Pacific Symposium:

  • Creates and deploys the yearly marketing plan to reach and surpass attendee goals (branding, website, print, social media, email, events etc.).
  • Generates all signage and collateral for the conference, including the conference program and sponsored merchandise.
  • Support Symposium team with sponsor partnerships and benefits.
  • Assists in managing the live event.

Team Development/Management:

  • Build, develop and manage marketing team capable of carrying out needed marketing strategies.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
  • Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance reviews, and administer salary adjustments.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Supervises marketing team of two including Sr. Marketing Manager and Community Relations Manager. Manages independent contractors (graphic designer, social media content creators).

Essential Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of marketing strategy for the for-profit higher education sector.
  • Extensive experience with digital lead generation and branding optimization.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, creativity, and team leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presents ideas articulately.
  • Ability to hire, train, manage and mentor a marketing team and agency partners.

Education and Experience:

  • An undergraduate degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related discipline is required; an advanced degree is preferred with concentration in business strategy or marketing.
  • 10+ years directly related experience, preferably in the higher education or healthcare industries.
  • Successful experience managing a broad range of marketing responsibilities including lead generation, digital marketing, brand management, social media, communications, and event management.
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to build credible, highly collaborative relationships with multiple departments and vendors.
  • Proven track record in team management, managing multiple projects simultaneously, implementing and driving change, detail orientation, strong analytical skills, market knowledge, customer focus and sound judgment.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce, WordPress, Adobe CS applications, Microsoft Office 365, and social media platforms.

Compensation: Salary Range:  $110,000 -$120,000 annually

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing essential functions of the job in a typical office/workstation situation. Able to work sitting or standing at desk and operate a computer using keyboard and reading information on a monitor.
