- Speculate about possible uses of cannabis to treat coronavirus symptoms

- Debunk some claims about CBD and COVID-19 cures

- Provide some general recommendations
At least 500 distinct coronaviruses (CoV) have been identified in bats, and estimates of bat CoV diversity is greater than 5000. SARS-CoV-2 is unlikely the last that will jump from bats to an intermediate host to humans. In fact, there now have been three zoonotic jumps of highly pathogenic CoV into the human population in less than 20 years. Given the diversity of CoV, and the speed and prevalence of global travel, these pathogens are likely to cause additional pandemics in the future.
