Catherine Austin earned her Master’s Degree from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1998. She has been a Licensed Acupuncturist in private practice for 15 years in both Northern and Southern California and in South America, specializing in digestive disorders, allergies, auto-immune diseases, and women’s health. Ms. Austin has done extensive studies in Chinese herbs and founded the first organic Chinese herbal pharmacy in Sonoma County in Northern California. She began teaching at Pacific College in 2005 because of her long-time interest in promoting Integrative Medicine. She lectures on respiratory, gastro-intestinal, and endocrine disorders, and supervises in the on-site clinic. She served as Chair of the Clinical Department of Pacific College from 2007 to 2009. In 2011 and 2012, Catherine was involved with the design and implementation of the Acupuncture services portion of the new Integrative Medicine track in Family Medicine at UCSD. In 2012 and 2013, she began additional training in Ayurvedic medicine and herbs while working with top neurologist Dr. Chaudhary at Wellspring Health in La Jolla. Catherine completed her Doctoral Coursework at PCHS in 2011, and will be defending her Capstone in September 2013.
