Laura Flowers is a New York State Licensed Acupuncturist and Nationally Certified Herbalist practicing in New York City. She holds a Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) from Pacific College of Health and Science, where she is now on faculty and teaching in the Herbology Department. Laura is a certified practitioner of the Sandlin Technique, and is certified by Virginia Doran in facial rejuvenation acupuncture. For twenty years, Laura was a professional dancer and choreographer. She taught dance at various schools and institutions in New York, including the Jose Limon School and Long Island University. She holds a BFA in Dance from Adelphi University and an MFA from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts. In 2012, Laura completed a three-year course of study in Medical Qigong. Since 2011, she has traveled many times to China to study Qigong and meditation, primarily with Grandmaster Yuanming Zhang, whom she assists in workshops in the U.S. Laura’s study of ancient medical classics, and Confucian, Buddhist and Daoist philosophical writings deepens her understanding of the roots of East Asian medicine and informs her work with patients. She combines her extensive knowledge of body alignment and muscle function with eastern and western healing modalities to help people lead more easeful, balanced lives.
