Associate of Applied Science (Massage Therapies)The purpose of the Associate degree programs is to prepare students for employment nationally in the profession of body therapy and massage and for certification by National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). Students may enroll in this program directly out of high school. This new program, which launched in June 2008, integrates Asian and Western bodywork therapy. Students enrolled in the Associate of Applied Science in Massage Therapies must complete 64 units, as well as course prerequisites. The massage program emphasizes Oriental medicine theory, addressing the body, mind, and spirit. Students will gain an understanding of the Western and Eastern approaches and massage techniques, with focus on both the theories and the practice. Our massage program includes courses such as:
