In this lunch and learn and workshop we will cover the practices of silk reeling exercises and standing meditation as taught in the Chen style of Taiji.

Standing meditation - is the practice of finding Stillness in any position and cultivating proper alignment of the body both structurally and energetically. One attempts to bring their body in accordance with the laws of nature, centralizing their body weight over the center of the feet, with the entire body aligned properly on its Center at the Dantien.

Silk reeling - is the practice of keeping the body in alignment with gravity while in. centered on the lower abdomen, the joints are open, the muscles expensive and we learn to move in accordance with our nature under the laws of connection that are spiraling force. We seek to find the microcosm within the macrocosm.

Corporal Dominique Neely has been practicing martial arts for over 15 years, beginning in Taekwondo, Wing Chun, Shaolin Kung Fu and most recently and painstakingly Chen style Taiji quan. Is practiced with various Masters under the direct lineage of the Chen family including Grandmaster Chen Xiaoping , grand master Zhu TianCau,  master Chen Zhi qiang and master Chen hui xian, and most consistantly his Shifu and direct American teacher Andy Loria of Chicago Chen taiji. The practice, philosophy and morality of Chen style Tai Chi is one of the main passions in Dominique's life, driving him to practice continually and earnestly.
