Energy: The Relationship of Balance and Health
Balancing energy, for both the patient and the practitioner, is
a concept that underlies many of the principles of Oriental Medicine.
Whether its meridian therapy, acupressure, balancing methods
from the Shang Han Lun, Qi Gong, Tui Na, or active acupuncture,
one cannot separate the notion of health and healing from energy.
Our keynote speaker, Michael Smith, brings this into focus with his
presentation Healing Occurs Through Relationship, Not Action. Recognizing
Qi as a higher power, Dr. Smith states: Qi relieves
blockage in conventional physiology. Qi replenishes the deficient
gene theory. Qi provides safety within ourselves and a linkage beyond
us. In addition to Dr. Smith, Pacific Symposium 2001 is honored to host another distinguished faculty of internationally renowned professionals in our field. Gain a new perspective on health care and medicine as you journey through two thousand years of Chinese medical history with Dr. Paul Unschuld. Join Subhuti Dharmananda for an update on herb-drug interactions and the latest on patent medicines from China. Learn how immune modulation can help treat intestinal problems, joint disease and heart disease from Steven Rosenblatt. And spend an evening with Zev Rosenberg as he unlocks the code of classical herbal texts and shows us how to develop effective herbal prescriptions. And of course, the scheduled curriculum is only half of the experience
at Pacific Symposium. Relax, unwind and re-energize yourself for
four days or
more in Americas Finest City. Located right on San Diegos
beautiful Mission Bay, Pacific Symposium is as much a treatment as it is
an opportunity for professional development. If youve got the energy,
take some time to enjoy all San Diego has to offer from world class
shopping to the San Diego Zoo and Sea World. If you need some energy, youll
find that an afternoon at the beach might be just what you need to inspire
and invigorate you. Whatever your interest, San Diego and Pacific Symposium
have it all. And for those of you who just cant get enough, stay a Symposium. |
