Chief Administrative Officer Appointed to Pacific College Chicago Campus

Pacific College is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Stewart as Chief Administrative Officer of Pacific's Chicago branch campus. Holding a Masters in Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, a Bachelor of Science in Administrative Studies from Eastern Oregon University, and an Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy, Stewart brings a wealth of experience and insight to Pacific.

Stewart's career in healthcare has spanned more than 25 years. He was certified by the NCCAOM in 1995 and has been a Registered Respiratory Therapist since 1976. In addition to his experience as a licensed acupuncturist, Mr. Stewart has practiced respiratory therapy in acute care settings, taught and coordinated an associate degree program in Respiratory Care at Mt. Hood Community College, and directed the growth and development of several respiratory home care organizations. He has also managed a division of a multi-hospital health care system in Portland, Oregon, as well as worked ten years for the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), an international health care accreditation organization, as a site surveyor and an associate director. There, he evaluated compliance with health care standards, assisted home care organizations seeking accreditation, and trained home care professionals in care planning and quality improvement.

Mr. Stewart's primary duties at Pacific College will be to oversee the growth and development of the administrative as well as academic aspect of the college's Chicago branch. Additionally, he will represent the college to the wider medical community in the Midwest and assist Pacific College in establishing internship programs at local hospitals and clinics.

A native of Los Angeles, Stewart currently lives and practices acupuncture and Oriental medicine in Downers Grove, IL. He joins Pacific College at an important time in the college's development. Currently, Pacific College is undertaking a number of major projects, the most significant of which are the development of a doctoral degree, the opening of a Chicago branch, re-accreditation by ACAOM, and regional accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
