Rules of the Alumni Email List
We request that everyone who uses the PCOM Alumni mailing list help us in making this a useful and interesting place to be for all of our Alumni members by following a few simple rules.
This list is designed to keep our Alumni members in contact with one another after graduating from PCOM. The list has many valuable emails sent which include business and office space opportunities, new advances in the field of OM/TCM and massage, referrals of patients and many public media opportunities such as television shows, news articles, etc.
Please follow these basic rules in making this list enjoyable for all of our Alumni members.
• Stay on topic of TCM/OM related issues. Topics that are not acceptable to post are ones such as chain letters, virus alerts (especially if the email does not contain a link to a reputable site explaining the details of the virus), jokes, warnings about a company or person that you may have felt wronged by or any other matter not directly related to the field of Chinese Medicine.
• No "flaming", attacking or demeaning comments of other list members regardless of topic or disagreement of opinions either on or off the list.
• No posting of any unsolicited materials or products without prior permission from the list manager. If you have questions on whether your email is acceptable for the mailing list, please send the proposed email to the List Administrator.
• No collecting of email addresses for purposes of reselling or sending SPAM.
• Refrain from sending any attachments to the list as many people have different programs and computer operating systems that cannot open your attachment anyway. Attachments also fill up email boxes and our mail server causing problems for the recipient as well as the server administrators. As an option, you can paste the content into an email body or email a link to a website with the file you wish to distribute.
• You may *not* use addresses obtained from this list to harass others or send them offensive, abusive or commercial e-mail.
• Do not post copyrighted material.
• You must be a subscriber of this list to post and you must email the list from the account you originally signed up from. If your address changes or things stop working for some reason, please contact the administrator via email which is located at the bottom of each email sent to the Alumni list. Anonymous re-mailers and anonymous email addresses may not be used to subscribe or post to this mailing list.
• If you use a "vacation" feature in your email program while away from your e-mail, make sure that it is smart enough to not send messages to the mailing list or to users who post to the mailing list.
Violations to any of the above rules will be followed by a request to cease and if violations continue, you could be banned from using this list.
Your feedback on improving the documentation and methods of the Alumni list and other Alumni resources is always appreciated. If you have questions you can't find an answer to, or if you have an idea on how to make something better, please send it to the List Administrator.
Enjoy the list!
